The NBA has suspended forward Miles Bridges for the next 30 games without pay as a result of domestic violence arrest last summer. He was accused of assaulting the mother of his two children.

Mr Bridges was arrested and charged with multiple offenses after an incident that took place on June 27, 2022, in Los Angeles. On November 3, 2022, he pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge, and the other charges against him were dropped.

Bridge's avoided Jail time but was sentenced to a total of three years of probation.  Moreover, he was ordered to stay away from the victim and undergo domestic violence counselling.

A thorough investigation was carried out by NBA that involves reviewing all the materials and speaking to the third-party witness. Further investigation was carried out after speaking to a group of domestic violence experts for complete guidance. The final verdict is to impose a 30-game suspension based on several factors. The factors typically include the conduct in question, its consequences, and the outcome of the related criminal proceedings.

For the entire NBA season 2022-2023, Bridges did not sign the contract. He missed a total of 82 games and remains a restricted free agent. Seeing the consequences of the case, the NBA has determined that 20 games of suspension have already been served. But, if Bridges choose to sign an NBA contract, he will be ineligible to play for the first 10 games he is otherwise able to participate in.
